Dr. Grady Harp studied music and medicine at Occidental College and the University of Southern California School of Medicine (now Keck). Upon completing his internship at Los Angeles County Hospital he was transplanted into the US Marine Corps as a Battalion Surgeon on loan from the commissioning Navy, serving in Vietnam 1968-1969.
In 1981 he and his partner created Lizardi/Harp Gallery, staging exhibitions in Pasadena and subsequently in Los Angeles. He has curated exhibitions in Southern California and touring shows in the US and Europe.
In 2019, Dr. Harp published a collection of poems about his service in Vietnam titled WAR SONGS.
